Monday - August 27th 
- Luke Rathborne @ Cake Shop  - Young singer songwriter from Maine, gaining acclaim over a year ago from has a new single called Pecos Bill. I'm a big fan of his EP from 2011. 
- Vensaire @ Glasslands - Really digging the sounds of this emerging band ; for fans of Grizzly Bear/Fleet Foxes - check out the single "If" on soundcloud

Tuesday - August 28th 
- Brooklyn Brewery Presents Brooklyn, Sweden Sendoff" feat. Telepathe, So-So Glos and Teen Commandments , Blonds @ Rock Shop- 2 hours of free brooklyn beer

- Stevie Jackson (Belle and Sebastian) @ Living Room - guitarist and songwriter from Belle and Sebastian supports his first solo album with an NYC show and then a bunch of chickfactor shows out west.

Wednesday - August 29th
- HOT97 Presents Whosnext feat. Angel Haze, Denzil Porter, Talonted  @ SOB's - Newest signing to Universal Records, Angel Haze is one of the most buzzed new rappers. 
- Oberhofer, Bleeding Rainbow, Heavenly Beat @ Brooklyn Bowl - Oberhofer is a band primarily based around its founder and frontman Brad Oberhofer ; recent signings to Glassnote records.
- Beirut, Little Scream @ Central Park/ Rumsey Playfield (SOLD OUT) - Little Scream sounds like just that. Love the lyrics and imagery of her song, Cannons.
- Lucius @ Rockwood Music Hall - local faves return to their old stomping ground
- Y La Bamba, Chris Purecki @ Knitting Factory BK - Y La Bamba is a delicately crafted art folk band from Portland. Play again the following night at Mercury Lounge
- Nude Beach, Naomi Punk, Sleepies and Shoxx @ Death By Audio Nude beach is one of the first releases/reissues on Other Music's label ; nice article in the village voice about it this week.
- Dead Can Dance @ Beacon Theater - first new album in over 15 years ; you may know them for their beautiful score to Baraka

Thursday 8/30 
- Janka Nabay and the Bubu Gang @ MoMA Nights  - Sierra Leonian singer Janka Nabay fronts an eclectic group of NY musicians he calls "the bubu gang".. recent EP available on True Panther
- The Chevin, Lovelife @ Mercury Lounge (late show)- Lovelife are a new act that has gone from UK to the BK bringing old school R&B to synth rock ; very interesting ; they opened the show last week with this one and it caught my attention
- The Heavy, The Skins @ Irving Plaza - The Skins have adopted a generous following including that of Adrian Grennier ; for fans of Band of Skulls ; I bet they are great live
- Fang Island, Adebisi Shank @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
- Xiu Xiu, Talk Normal, Les Bon Hommes @ Bowery Ballroom
- St. Lucia @ Soho House (Private Show) - just announced St. Lucia is going to be touring with Two Door Cinema Club
- exfm Presents Il Abanico, Thieving Irons, Cold Fronts, We Can't Enjoy Ourselves @ Pianos - like what I've been hearing from Thieving Irons. exfm is a really solid startup to keep an eye on. they seem to be doing good things.
- MNDR (ALBUM RELEASE PARTY) @ Tribeca Grand Hotel - with special guest performances and dj's 
Friday 8/31 
- Zambri, The Suzan @ Mercury Lounge (early show)
- Giuda, Games @ Cake Shop - Giuda are what sounds like an amazing glam rock band from Italy ; may have to check this out to make up for my missed opportunities to see Japan's Hotel Mexico twice last week.
- Julia Holter, Hundred Waters, Moon Diagrams @ Bowery Ballroom - really nice bill of neo-experimentalists
- Hospitality, ARMS @ Brooklyn Bowl (FREE with RSVP) - Interested in seeing ARMS ; Providing your email twice is worth seeing the show for free and downloading the bump in the night version of ARMS' Summer Skills
- Quilt, Hume, La Big Vic, Andrew Cedermark @ Cameo Gallery
- Slow Club, Secret Cities @ Glasslands (Early Show)
- Fujiya & Miyagi, Hess is More, Wishes @ Glasslands (Late Show)
- Little Barrie, Black Wing Halo, Danny Fingers & the Thumbs @ Bowery Electric
- Rodriguez @ Highline Ballroom (SOLD OUT) - Limited tix will be available at the door ; I can't say enough good things about this incredible documentary ; I'm going to be a patient soul lining up at the door this Friay
- AM & Shawn Lee, Cold Blood Club, Wishes & Thieves @ Knitting Factory BK - AM & Shawn Lee have put together one of the best collaborations in a while. Both of these guys are great but the sum is even better than the parts.
- Birds and Batteries, Illumntr, Metz, Writer @ Pianos - Been a fan of Birds & Batteries for the past few years ; constantly changing the scene ; Metz is a new signing to Sub Pop ; they play a few shows this week  Illumntr also sounds quite appealing ; Writer is a solid act from San Diego ; Nice bill to say the least.
- David Guetta, Pretty Lights, A-Trak, Tommy Trash, Brodinski, Dillon Francis, Nadastrom, Nick Catchdubs, Treasure Fingers, Jack Beats, and more! @ Randall's Island (Electric Zoo)
- Gramatik, Kid Koala, Paul Basic @ Webster HallBig fan of Gramatik's chill out sounds ; he's on Pretty Lights label.

Saturday 9/1 
- Axwell, Benny Benassi, Wolfgang Gartiner, AbdeCaf, Rusko, Steve Aoki, Datsik, 12th Planet, Felix Cartal, Kill The Noise, Mustard Pimp, and more! @ Randall's Island (Electric Zoo)

- Johanna & The Dusty FloorI Am Lightyear, Sveta Bout @ Glasslands (Early Show) - Johanna does a nice cover of Kate Bush's "Cloudbursting"
- Baauer, Om Unit, DJ Sliink, Aquarian @ Glasslands (Late Show) - Baauer is a notable BK producer, very latin influenced electronica
- The db's @ Maxwell's - classic 70's power pop band returns to support their newest release on Bar None ; heard great things about their last visit to NY a couple months back at Le Poisson Rouge. 
- The Blueness (NZ) @ Cake Shop -really like the sound of this New Zealand band ; two nice foreign bookings in a row ; well done cake shop
- The Mynabirds, Port St. Willow @ Mercury Lounge (early show) - Port St. Willow is Nick Principe’s solo project ; childhood friend and early collaborateur with Peter Silbermann from The Antlers ; this duo has some great atmospheric pieces
