The dudes at Crooks & Castles definitely knew what they were doing when they backed Diz Gibran," the LA Rapper who teamed up with New York producer "Moonshine" to produce the album - Soon You'll Understand. I'm definitely understanding and loving the 19 tracks that make up the album. The beats are soulful and melodic, the lyrics are positive and insightful - perhaps it's a reflection of who Diz compares himself to - "We kinda refer to ourselves as the new Gangstarr, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, type of thing."
Keep your eyes open, you may just run into Diz around LA or at his skate shop on Fairfax - The Diamond Supply Co. Skate Shop. If you don't there is no question you soon will be hearing his "Voice on the Stereo."
