- Jack White, The Alabama Shakes @ Roseland Ballroom (SOLD OUT) - One legend headlining and a future legend (Brittany Howard) supporting... supreme billing. 
- Henry Wolfe, Ferraby Lionheart @ Mercury Lounge (Early Show) - Two great LA songwriters. If you like Randy Newman and Harry Nillson, you will surely like Henry Wolfe. 
- Dry The River, Elle King @ Mercury Lounge (Late Show - SOLD OUT) - Dry the River is an up and coming Enlgish folk rock band ; Elle King has an incredible voice and is defly going to be a name you won't forget in the near future.

- Wallpaper., Gordon Voidwell @ Bowery Ballroom - comical rappers Wallpaper are entertaining to say the least ; for fans of das racist.
- Landlady, Bright Moments, Jinja Safari (Australia) @ Mercury Lounge (Early Show) - Landlady is the 6 piece mcnugget feat. Adam Schatz, piano and horn player for Little Joy, Hospitality, Sleigh Bells, Those Darlins) ; As mentioned previously Bright Moments sound great and hoping to see them live soon.
- Stonesthrow Episode 2 : Tatertots feat. Jonwayne, DJ Duane Harriott (Other Music/WFMU) @ Cameo Gallery - Jonwayne is the newest stonesthrow beatmaker ; for fans of the hip hop infused soundtrack to your old Atari console.

- Filligar, The Rassle @ Mercury Lounge (Late Show) - The Rassle is formed from former member of The Young Lords and The Virgins, who happen to be playing the same venue on Saturday.
- Crystal Fighters, Is Tropical, Icky Blossoms @ Music Hall of Williamsburg - Crystal Fighters is a British/Spanish electro-pop band ; they must have moved out here cuz they've had a number of shows here recently.
- The Bronx, Two Gallants @ Rocks Off Concert Cruises - Folk rock duo Two Gallants make a long-awaited return to music and will be displaying what i've heard is a promising forthcoming release  ; The Bronx's latin alter-ego will be back on ship the next evening along with the gallants.
- Rocky Votolato, Callmekat @ The Studio of Webster Hall - Watch the video for Rocky's "White Daisy Passing" and you'll feel better
- The Afghan Whigs, Joseph Arthur @ Bowery Ballroom (SOLD OUT)

- Night Manager, Heaven's Gate, Yvette, Mala Strana @ Cameo Gallery - Yvette is a current buzzed noise rock duo but a little too heavy for me.
- Hooray For Earth, Warm Ghost, Co La @ Glasslands - Hip Hip Hooray to me for finally getting hip to Hooray for Earth ..no wonder they were on a lot of people's list of best albums of 2011.

- Ninja Tune Presents Hot Sugar (EP Release), Big Baby Gandhi, Extreme Animals, Dapwell from Das Racist (DJ Set) @ Littlefield -Hot Sugar's bandcamp has genre music tags as "experimental trap music" ...nuff said.
- Country Mice, Dough Rollers, Eastern Midwestern, The Lighthouse and the Whaler @ Mercury Lounge - Eastern Midwestern remind me a bit of Young the Giant ; Cleveland Ohio's The Lighthouse and the Whaler sound very promising and are already getting love from Public Radio stalwarts KCRW/KEXP

- Mariachi El Bronx, Two Gallants @ Rock Off Concert Cruises (Aboard the Princess) - Mariachi music by the sea sounds like an offer i can't refuse.

- The Spinto Band, Ski Lodge, The Extraordinaires @ The Rock Shop - Ski Lodge is  a new band on Dovecote. Not crazy about what I've heard but i keep hearing they are ones to watch.
