Vote for Bedtime For Toys - Deli Magazine's artist of the Month

Our local K-town heroes, Bedtime for Toys, have been nominated for Deli Magazine's Artist of the Month poll! While the toys would make for a mean sandwich, this is not a magazine about pastrami but rather The Deli LA is a 3 year-old independent publication and website that focuses on local indie music scenes and emerging artists in NY, SF, Nashville, and LA. BFT are currently in 2nd place and the poll closes Friday so please take a sec and cast a quick vote at :

**The poll is on top of the right hand side column. Click "vote" on the bottom of the poll box and punch the Bedtime for Toys ticket in '08!**

2am Club, Bedtime For Toys, Love You Long Time @ Derby - Review + Photo Gallery

Thanks to everyone that came out to support the FoundTrack's first live music showcase at the Derby last Friday. Here is a mini-review and thanks to all of the people involved. Hope to see you very soon at our 2yr anniversary party!

Click here for the full gallery

LOVE YOU LONG TIME

Love you Long Time got the party started right and swiftly with a guest appearance from a massive 80's boombox to accompany their keytar and vivacious vocals on the vocoder. They just moved out to LA from Utah and are already making a name for themselves so let's make sure to give them a warm welcome and continue to support them at their upcoming shows including this Saturday at the Knitting Factory. Oh and this is pretty crucial..if you happen to be in Utah this Fall, they will be opening it up for MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice.

BEDTIME FOR TOYS
Bedtime For Toys of course killed it once again and opened their set with an homage to Prince. They played all of their classic cuts including "Cold Fever" but gave us a special treat debuting their new rendition of Earth Wind & Fire's "September" with Ladies Man Kenan Moore dropping the drum thunder in honor of his father's legendary band. The word on the streets is that The Toys are working on a covers record with some very special guests so stay tuned. In the meanwhile, their digital catalog was just released yesterday on itunes so get it while it's hot here.

2AM CLUB

2am Club came with the raucous once again and overwhelming support from their faithful. We'd like to thank them for asking us to get involved and putting together such a great series of shows at the Derby. They are currently working on new material in norcal with producer Jerry Harrison of the Talking Heads, but will be playing a number of shows throughout the summer including a 4th of July Party on the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Check out their hit "Flashing Room" on our July compilation.

DJ KNEWJACK
Gracias also goes out to the grandmaster DJ KnewJack as well for dropping the hotness once again on the turntables between bands. Can't get enough of his disco madness? Then listen to his Behold the Spartacus mix and stay tuned for his second installment of his monthly DJ mixtapes on this very here blog.

FoundTrack's July '08 Compilation (track 1/14) - Boy Genius feat. Tatanka - "Summer (ft intro edit)"

FT JULY '08 INTRO - Transcribed
"Welcome to the FoundTrack's July 2008 compilation. As we enter our third year we want to thank all of our listeners for their continued support and the artists on this compilation for allowing us to showcase their work. If you like what you hear this is just the tip of the iceberg. We encourage you to support these artists by purchasing their music. For more information stay tuned to FoundTrack.com. We have plenty in store this year and hope to serve as a resource to those who are willing to welcome us with open minds."

Introducing you to our 3rd year in the game is none other than FoundTrack friend for life Tatanka of National Geographic, whose vocal dexterity has provided the voiceover...over and over again ; taking on such roles as Little Superstar, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Vincent Price, Charles Bukowski, the Apple commercial dude, FoundTracula, your friendly neighbor Peter Parker, and most importantly himself (pictured above). He's so prolific I don't even think we could fit all of his work on one mixtape. In fact, i wouldn't be surprised if he was working on another voiceover project in the picture above despite tough reception in NY's underground. Many thanks goes to our reliable pal. We wouldn't have been able to make it this far without you.

Of course, it wouldn't have flowed so nicely without the beatmaster himself Boy Genius (Toussaint Hunt of Bedtime For Toys) laying down his "summer" jam. Outside of his work for the Toys of K-town, he is a producer prodigy and this is a mere sample of this boy's genius skills. If you're interested in any licensing opportunities don't be shy. Hit him up through the Bedtime For Toys MySpace page.

Stay tuned to the blog throughout this month for more features on the rest of the artists on our July Compilation

DJ KnewJack's top moments

* "Not being able to feel my legs after 2 blisteringly badass hours of losing my mind watching Prince"

* "Sleeping under the desert stars listening to Portishead while trying to forget the imminent threat of being stepped on by a hippie or hipster"
* "Posing with KnewJack and 2 donkey pinatas miming a sex act at the Anthem Party"

(who says the donkey show only happens in Tijuana?)
