Zikmu Couture Speakers by Philippe Starck x Parrot

Wi-fi is everywhere but I was blown away when I heard that they were making wireless speakers with connections embedded in them. Well that's what designer Philippe Stark and Paris-based electronics company Parrot have created with the couture speakers they call "Zikmu." The speakers stand 2.5 feet tall and can be placed up to 30 feet apart from each other. One of the speakers has an iPhone/iPod dock that doubles as a charger to keep your device ready to go.

These speakers are absolutely sheik. For some time I've been looking for some wireless speakers that would provide some ambiance and exceptional sound to two of my three floors in my place. With 30 feet of separation between the two speakers I can place one speaker on my second floor and the other at the top of the stairwell on my third floor - while managing my music via my computer or iPod. Oh, did i forget to mention that this speakers allow you to directly stream music from your PC or MAC!!! The design resembles a modern sculpture and can be great a conversational pieces or blend well with a home already filled with art. What more can you ask for, well I know what I can ask for - a pair from the manufacturer! The pair will run you $1,500 and from what I hear well worth it. Check out the carrying case they come in!!!

Creative Packaging- CK One's "We Are One" MP3 Bottles

Calvin Klein's "CK One" has been a go-to fragrance for both Guys AND Girls for many many years now (although recently I've tended to be a Varvatos man). The brand has always done a good job of maintaining it's brand identity through a variety of means including those infamous Kate Moss ads, special events, and the occasional repackaging stunt. This year, CK is packaging bottles of their signature fragrance in a case that includes a built in MP3 player and speaker as part of its "We are One" campaign. The idea behind the campaign is that music is the universal language- You know that we here at FoundTrack definitely agree with that statement! Keep an eye out for these limited edition beauties starting in March...

The Big Picture: "Pico Pocket Projector" - A Movie Theater in the Palm of Your Hand

Looks like all you film and gadget buffs have a new toy to play with- The Pico Pocket Projector is the latest in high-tech gadgets and is sure to be the next big thing. The projector is small, light and most importantly mobile. When I say small, I really mean small. It's so small that you can actually carry it around in your pocket and they have priced it reasonably that it won't break your pocket - retails at $399. The maker of this nifty device is a London based company that designs and manufacturers projectors - Optoma. Optoma has outdone themselves with the Pico Pocket Projector. Not only has the company made the projector affordable & portable but they've also given it a new cool and fun image - check out their uber happy marketing pics below and you will see what I mean.

Look at all the fun these guys are having. Your local watering hole doesn't have a TV, that's not a problem anymore - hook up the pocket projector to your iPhone and watch the highlights of the game from ESPN.com:

Ladies don't let the fellas have all the fun. These two are playfully rating these two Lads:

Here is a close-up on the Pico Pocket Projector:

The possibilities are pretty endless! Dinner and movie can now be anywhere - the park, the beach, your private little spot, literally anywhere. Want to see more - here is some video footage of this little baby in action! If you really want more, you can purchase one here - Amazon or Best Buy.

iBreathalyzer - Let Your iPod Tell You If You're Too Drunk

"Friends don't let friends drive drunk." Well now your iPod and iPhone are two other friends you can count on! Thanks to David Steele Enterprises the developers of the iBreath, an Alcoholic Breathalyzer - the coolest accessory yet for your iPod/iPhone!!! Here is how it works-

Just fold out the blow wand and exhale into it for at least 5 seconds. 2 seconds later, this amazing tool let's you know if you're within the legal limit to drive. It even houses a timer that can be set from 1 minute up to 8 hours in order to remind you when it's time for the next test.

The device is small and sleek, batteries are not needed, the results are shown on a LCD display and it doubles for a Wireless FM Transmitter. The iBreath retails for around $79 which is well worth it! We all know how expensive a DUI can be and I personally never want to know the exact amount. This is definitely going to be on my Christmas wish list this year! Perfect timing too, especially with all the Holiday parties around the corner...

Movie Trailer Monday - "Star Trek"... Not JUST for Nerds?

Paramount has just released the much anticipated trailer to the new "Star Trek" film this past weekend attached to the record breaking 007 film, "Quantum of Solace." The studio's goal with this new film was to take an aging franchise and spice it up for a new and more importantly, wide audience. How would they set about taking the nerdiest of all franchises and make it cool you ask? Well the first step would be to hire a "hip" director- enter J.J. Abrams of "Lost" fame. Next hire a a cast of young and once again "hip" actors- think Zachary "Sylar from Heroes" Quinto, Simon "Shaun of the Dead" Pegg, and the always awesome Eric Bana. Last step- Modernize the story and effects, and do this all with a reasonably high budget.

Star Trek 90210... Hey look in the background! "Harold and Kumar Go to Space!"

Will this all work? Well we'll have to wait until May 8, 2009 to find out, but if this trailer is any indicator, it looks like it will. EVERYone in my screening of "Quantum of Solace" was pumped after this played, and the comments from readers of pretty "mainstream" sites around the web are almost all positive. Even though I'm kinda a closet geek, Star Trek has always been one notch too geeky even for me. That said, I do have to admit that this looks pretty fresh and has me pretty stoked. Sit back, let your inner nerd out for a few minutes and let us know what you think:

Touchscreen BlackBerry Storm - Lookout iPhone...

So RIM finally made the official announcement about their new touchscreen BlackBerry, the "Storm," and it looks pretty wicked. I'm totally an Apple guy when it comes to computers, but I've never been a fan of the iPhone models so far because quite frankly, they suck when it comes to typing on them. Supposedly this new B-Berry is awesome to type on thanks to a new 'tactile feedback' feature (and that's coming from the Engadget guys who tend to be pretty straight forward and cynical). In plain English, this feature not only provides a bit of vibration back to your fingers as you're typing, but the actual screen presses downward so it feels like you're typing on a real keyboard. One bad bit of news though... just like the iPhone being exclusive to AT&T, the Storm is going to be a Verizon exclusive in the US. :( Looks like I'll have to stick to getting the Blackberry Bold?... Checkout the rad video below and decide for yourself!

Real Life Superhero "Jet Man" flies across English Channel

This Swiss dude Yves Rossy gets the bad ass of the week award. Yves is better known as his real life superhero alter ego "Jet Man." A few days ago, Yves jumped out of a plain in France and used his jet pack to fly across the English Channel. He totally reminds me of my favorite character from the 80s cartoon "The Centurions," Ace McCloud the Daring Air Operations Expert:

After 13 minutes of flight at 125 mph,Yves safely parachuted into England:

Microsoft's Zune L.A. Space (ft. Photography by Craig Wetherby)

As some of you might have noticed as of late, Microsoft has been trying to create a more hip brand image for itself with products such as their iPod competitor the Zune, the Xbox 360, and ads featuring the likes of Jerry Seinfeld and Pharrell. As part of all this buzz creating, a few months ago the software giant took over a photo studio in Los Angeles and turned it into a really cool invite only lounge space called "Zune L.A." The spot serves as office space for the LA Zune team during the day, and in the evenings and weekends turns into a rad spot for special events. The Zuners have a few special friends helping out as well, including Vans, New Era, Puma and Paramount. We recently got a chance to check out the space:

Here's the badass multipurpose main room that can serve as a dancefloor... the padded walls are fall of you clumsy folks out there:

Obligatory DJ Booth photo:

Intermixed with the boutique hotel like atmospher are product demos guests can play with:

Lord of the Castle:

I pity the fool that clowns Abe Lincoln's mohawk!:

This thing here was by far my favorite gadget in the whole place! It's the new "Microsoft Surface" which is basically a coffee table sized touch screen computer... screw the iPhone! Here's me doing my best Beethoven impression on the built in piano software:

AND it can scan any object you lay on it... kinda scary like a real life Eagle Eye:

The Zune L.A. space is currently showcasing photography by the uber talented Craig Wetherby all throughout the venue. His work is super stylized and a blast to checkout- Make sure to take a peep at more of the photos at his official site:

The original hip hop pirate, Slick Rick:

Iron Lung aka Method Man aka the first rapper to blast ya with a hockey puck:

I don't know, but everyone loves seventies pilots and stewardesses:

And last but not least, you'll have to contend with these dudes to get in... they're there to protect all of the V.I.G.'s inside (Very Important Geeks):

Black & Purple Piaget Collector's Trunk

At some point in the not so distant future, I hope to be able to justify the price of this Piaget "Collector's Trunk," though I'm assuming it costs more than most of our cars. It features the kind of practical functionality that all of us need as requirements for survival, such as built in champagne slots and kinetic watch rotators. More importantly than anything else though, it's got an uber slick matte black and purple interior look going on. I hope it happens to have room form my midget butler as well so I save on airfare for him. Click on the images below to checkout the badass mini site Piaget has setup for this bad boy:

Limited James Bond Edition Omega Speedmaster 300m

A few days ago we featured the trailer to the new James Bond film, "Quantum of Solace," and it looks like the marketing machine is in full effect. FoundTrack Friend Bay Area Andrew tipped us off that longtime Bond franchise partner and watchmaker Omega has released this limited edition black version of it's classic Speedmaster mens timepiece. While it sucks that it doesn't feature any cool stuff like lasers or a built in hologram projector, it DOES have a scratch resistant sapphire crystal face and a self winding chronometer (whatever that is). More importantly than anything else it just looks damn sharp:

Joker Bank Robber Edition by Hot Toys

The opening bank robbery in The Dark Knight is arguably one of the best sequences in the film. Shot on IMAX cameras in a style reminiscent of Michael Mann's Heat, the sequence climaxed in the big reveal of Heath Ledger's Joker as he removes his clown mask. Film Collectible maker Hot Toys has produced this bank robbery version of the Joker so fans can immortalize the character and the sequence. Checkout the detail level on this thing... pretty crazy- not like the boxey Transformers I was playing with as a little dude:

Pimp your Mouse out - Louis Vuitton Mouse Pad

No this isn't a joke... Murakami was commissioned by Louis Vuitton to design a mouse pad for the Japanese edition of trendy Magazine, Numéro. How much does this piece of mouse casa couture cost? You'll have to be one of the lucky few that gets it as a giveaway included with the Magazine. Japanese fashion mags have a cool tradition of nice giveaways- I once got an inflatable Bathing Ape pillow with a Magazine I picked up at the airport in Toyko. A rad albeit bizarre culture indeed...

Triple 5 Soul's Newbury Laptop Case

Here's a little something for your inner Eighties pimp from the folks over at Triple 5 Soul. You can always count on the good ol' T5S to design clothes and accessories that balance form and function... all wrapped up in a nice street-wear meets tech sorta way. This bag has space for your notebook and a few peripherals, and the outside is wrapped in white or black croc skin (i'm assuming faux).

At $62 it's a pretty decent deal- Nothing like a little soul funk couture to spicen up that powermeeting!

A Sport I could Dominate - Texting World Championship

Fall 2008 Lacquered Casio G-Shock Watches

I'm not a big fan of this whole Casio G-Shock trend yet. I'm probably going to get a lot of smack talk for that comment. That said, I DO really dig these laquered fall 2008 releases, though it could just be the composition of the red, white and black models next to each other... They're available now at In4mation in Hawaii.

By the way, the Casio Calculator Watch will always be the REAL 80s retro timepiece:
