A Few Paul Smith Accessories
Certain fashion lines pop out to me due to their accessories as much as their clothing designs. Paul Smith is definitely one of these brands- their aesthetic combines classic design styles and patterns with bold splashes of color to create very unique pieces. I was perusing Selectism when I noticed the following pocket square... This in turn led me to Paul Smith's site where I selected a couple of my current favorites:
Pocket Squares are classic AND rad- rock one with your blazer or be crazy and throw it in your member's only jacket pocket!:
This Bracelet would be a perfect splash of color with a solid white shirt:
Purple accented trim AND a classic brunette pinup? Can't get any better than that:

Black & Purple Piaget Collector's Trunk
At some point in the not so distant future, I hope to be able to justify the price of this Piaget "Collector's Trunk," though I'm assuming it costs more than most of our cars. It features the kind of practical functionality that all of us need as requirements for survival, such as built in champagne slots and kinetic watch rotators. More importantly than anything else though, it's got an uber slick matte black and purple interior look going on. I hope it happens to have room form my midget butler as well so I save on airfare for him. Click on the images below to checkout the badass mini site Piaget has setup for this bad boy:

Creative Recreation x Barneys Fall 2008 Exclusives
It's been a while since I've posted a nice white on white shoe, so when I saw these new Creative Recreation x Barneys exclusives for Fall 2008 I had to jump on them. Now that I've completed that last sentence though, I'm looking at the picture above and wondering if they're actually grey and the lighting is making them look white? Oh well, I'll just imagine they're white for now. For those of you that want a little more excitement, checkout this lo model with the black and purple trim:
Or for those of you traveling to other planets with LiL Wayne and Kanye, here's a hi model with some awesome patent leather accents with plenty of Creative Recreation's signature velcro buckles to top things off:

Married to the MOB Fall/Winter 2008 Collection - Fresh Threads for the Girls
The badass ladies of Married to the MOB (Most Official Bitches) are back with some new fashion hotness as they present their Fall/Winter 2008 collection. Their Summer '08 collection was sick and it looks like the new collection follows suit. I love their raw energy and attitudey brand identity and bold slogans... really sick stuff goin' on here for sure:
Sick design- check. Spunky brunette- check. Purple hoodie- check. Sign me up:

This chicita looks like she bites... watch out for her, people:

The white jeans are rad... who says you can't wear white after labor day?:

Nice composition and contrast on this shot- I love the detail on her jacket and the bold print on her tee:

** FoundTrack Friend Victor is friends with the Chica that runs "Cult of the Cultist," and awesome ladies's streetwear portal and online store... make sure to check it out for all newest pieces from M.O.B. and every other brand that matters!

Lagom's 2008 Fall/Winter Collection
Swedish brand Lagom is known for a unique casual sensibility that combines a simple clean cut aesthetic with the influence of street wear. Continuing with this week's influx of Fall/Winter 2008 fashion collections, here is Lagom's. The brand name literally translates to "just right", and that's exactly what this line show's off:
I've got to admit that I was probably just as swayed by the background paint design on these shots as I was the clothes... what a sick layout!
A refreshing take on the hoodie, a staple of everyone's closet... The loose fitting monk style hood is pretty cool:
Along with the Super sunglasses we mentioned a few posts down, the new Lagom collection is available at Caliroots...

London Artist INSA does Barracuda and Live Even
London based artist INSA (of the crazy tripped out purple paintings we featured a few months ago) is definitely keeping himself busy. He recently held an event called "Take My Love" where he featured his work and gave away 100 limited edition t-shirts. Here are some of his signature white/magenta high heel paintings:
Looks like the fellow has also been leaving his mark in LA as well. I was over at Barracuda on Melrose with my buddy Blake this weekend and noticed some of his pieces on the corner of the building:
Turns out that the good folks that run the shop had him add some spunk to the outside of their store. Make sure to stop by Barracuda when you have a sec... Israel gave me a little preview of a crazy new installation that Nike is building inside their store. Here's a photo of INSA at work:

Converse's 100 Year Anniverary continues- August '08 Shoe releases
Looks like Converse is on fire these days. Not only are they releasing exclusive music tracks, but Converse Japan is also continuing their 100th anniversary with these rad releases for August. I'm a big fan of white canvas hightops, so I definitely score a pair of the "P-L/T Elegance Hi" models above. The following feature a unique modern texture and color pattern on a hip classic, the Jack Purcell- this particular version being called the "Rly Metagater":
This next hybrid "V-3 Knee Hi" version of the classic Chuck Taylor All Star is so crazy, I'm not even sure if the Joker could pull em off. At least they're purple:
Here next are some lowtop All Stars called the "Chic OX." A little patent leather never hurt everyone... as for red patent leather, I'm not sure if I can say the same ;)
And so with that, we leave on a safer impression of the color red. Here are some Jack Purcell "Quilt Mids":

S.T. Dupont USB Fountain Pen
S.T. Dupont is a Parisian maker of fine goods that most of us can't afford, but regardless are pretty much awesome. The line runs the gamut from pens, to wallets to belts, etc. I'm a big fan of good design, technology, and luxury products I shouldn't spend my money on, so this particular pen struck my fancy. This particular fountain pen sports a 4gb usb drive for all you super spies out there. For the traditionalists out there, checkout this purple lacquered fountain pen from their "Fidelio" line:
Finally for those of you that don't actually ever pickup a pain in reality (i.e. Me), checkout the design on this slick lighter:

Lil Wayne's been drinking too much sizzurp... "Lollipop" Music Video
Everyone's favorite mad genius (or is it just mad...) Lil Wayne has been drinking way too much of that purple codeine sizzurp he loves so dearly. I honestly can't tell if I love or hate his new song and video "Lollipop." Part of me feels guilty bobbin' to the melody... one thing's for sure- they definitely shot some of this video renegade style. See for yourself:

New $5 Bill is my new favorite form of Currency & Legal Tender
Looks like Honest Abe and I have more in common than fondness of awesome hats. The new $5 bill is rolling off the presses and is the latest US currency that's been redesigned to foil counterfeit money makers. Additional watermarks, bold numerals, and splashes of color have been added as new security measures. Can you guess why I'm a big fan of these?Source: Yahoo! News

GenArt's "New Garde" '08 - "Fashion" Week LA
So, LA "Fashion" Week is upon us again- Fashion being a loose term in LA for sure. That said, the FoundTrack team was pleasantly surprised by what we saw at Gen Art's kickoff event for the week, "New Garde." The show is unique in that it's more of an interactive showcase than a runway event. This year the event celebrated it's 5th anniversary and featured designs by JMary, Jesse Kamm and Le Sang Des Betes by Tang Chau.
The fashion pieces were surprisingly cool- Especially the Les Sang des Betes pieces (both from a design and presentation standpoint). As for the crowd in attendance, they were totally diverse and definitely had some unique looks going on- from super caliente to savagely awesome, with just a few random folks that fell into the scary category.
Siku Vokda (which seems to be making a huge marketing blitz right now a la Svedka), Sake2me, and Domaine St Michelle were on hand hosting the bar, and get this- how much more LA can you get?... BOTOX was one of the main sponsors! LOL! Funny enough, they had this fun little installation with girls holding clear umbrellas taking showers. This red blooded LA guy isn't gonna complain about that...
Thanks to FoundTrack Friends and Fashionistas Sara and Tara, and the Good Doctor O for checkin' this out with Your's Truly. More photos from the night in the slideshow:More Gen Art Events here

Design WTF?! of the week - Prada Limited Edition Deluxe Atomizer
Don't worry Guys, I don't know what a "Deluxe Atomizer" is either, but I'm assuming it has something to do with that stuff that make the ladies smell good. What I do know is that Prada knows what it's doing, and this thing has some sick design elements going for it. Between the chrome accents, and the violet crocodile skin, I'd buy one.According to the description on Sybarites where I first saw this:
"The perfume re-explores the spirit of amber in four characteristic ways, each based on one ancestral ingredient; sandalwood oil from India, patchouli leaves from Indonesia, labdanum resin from France and benzoin from Siam. Only one hundred will be made and will be available from certain Prada stores"
If you're still curious as to what the hell an atomizer is, checkout the always insightful Wikipedia
** UPDATE - You'd better have just gotten the advance on a record deal or something if you want to buy one of these for your significant other... they're apparently $550 at Neiman Marcus...

Wicked Shades from Trainspotter
These wicked sweet locs come from UK brand Trainspotter. The above come from their "London" Line. These fine specimens are my favorites and come from their awesomely named "Crockett and Tubbs" line:
And these are from their Spring / Summer '08 Collection:
All these awesome shades are giving me serious Eighties envy - The only way to cure that would be our super top secret limited edition 80s MegaMix (compiled for the last birthday of FoundTrack's very own NASSir)
