Diesel's Dirty Thirty Limited Edition Anniversary Denim

The folks at Diesel are pulling out all the stops when it comes to celebrating their 30th anniversary. First it was the crazy viral videos and worldwide 30th birthday parties, and now as the icing on the cake, they're releasing limited edition "Dirty Thirty" denim in men's and women's cuts this Friday, October 10th. The best thing about this? The jeans are going to be sold for $50! I repeat, Fifty Bucks people! That's like more than a hundred bucks cheaper than the average pair. If you want to score a pair, make sure you show up early at your local Diesel store (check their site for a list of participating stores worldwide).

Movie Trailer Monday - New "The Spirit" Trailer

So there's a new trailer out for "The Spirit," and honestly at this point I can't tell if the trailers are getting better or worse. I do like this new one , but now I'm worried that it's just going to be a lazy "Sin City" copy-cat (Though with Frank Miller at the lens, I guess one could expect that). Hopefully an intentionally 'so-bad-it's-good' performance by Samuel Jackson and eye candy costars Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson will be enough to carry this thing. We'll just have to hold out on an opion until The Spirit's Christmas release- until then, here's the newest trailer:

Album of the Week - Ladyhawke

I've had Ladyhawke on my radar for a while but I finally got the album last week and it has exceeded my expectations....I LOVE IT! It's got a great 80s rock/pop with every song urging you to get up and dance. All I can say is that I've had this on repeat the entire week and I am still not bored ;)

Check out her video to Back of the Van - lovin' the retro concept...

Ladyhawke is currently touring and will be at The Echo in LA on Oct 16th.
The US debut single release is Paris is Burning and is available buy here on Oct 14th. The album is out now in the UK, Australia & New Zealand.

Diesel Kids "Explorers" Short Film

So at some point a couple days ago someone forwarded me the super funny and somewhat racy Diesel XXX viral video. The video did its intended job and got me over to Diesel's site where I ended up checking out most of the collections on it. The sickest thing that caught my eye was the amazingly tripped out short film that intros the Kid's Fall/Winter '08 collection. Don't know much about the production itself, but it's depicts a bunch of kids going through crazy dreamlike adventures in space and fantasy lands:

Well anyway, the film is definitely in line with the collection as the inspiration for creative director Wilbert Das and his team spanned everything from Arctic exploration to Space Travel. Here are a few of the many rad photos from the collection- I'm diggin' the wild stylized production design going on:

Billionaire Boys Club "Space Leopard" Cardigans

I'm not usually the biggest fan of all the Bathing Ape and Billionaire Boys Club stuff, but I've gotta admit this cardigan is pretty cool. The "Space Leopard" cardigan is a unique and pretty bold take on a classic part of any guys wardrobe. Love the letter jacket-esque emblem on the back. It's available in the black and red colorways pictured here, and also in blue at the BBC/Ice Cream site.

Real Life Superhero "Jet Man" flies across English Channel

This Swiss dude Yves Rossy gets the bad ass of the week award. Yves is better known as his real life superhero alter ego "Jet Man." A few days ago, Yves jumped out of a plain in France and used his jet pack to fly across the English Channel. He totally reminds me of my favorite character from the 80s cartoon "The Centurions," Ace McCloud the Daring Air Operations Expert:

After 13 minutes of flight at 125 mph,Yves safely parachuted into England:

Nintendo Punch-Out! is back !

One of the most glorious pieces of retro 80s video game history is back! At a press conference this morning, Nintendo announced a new version of the boxing classic "Punch-Out!" for the Wii. I'm usually weary of remakes, but this one looks like it's kept the best of the original, including main character "Little Mac" and villains including King Hippo. Along with Street Fighter IV, the next few months look like a rad time for some vintage gaming nostalgia. Checkout this teaser trailer... the best part is they stuck with the oh so classic music theme:
