Fol Chen are a five-piece indie rock band from Highland Park, CA. The group's core members were formerly known as the Bedroom Walls ; deciding the constant shift in sound and lineup had merited a new identity. The band remains pretty mysterious these days but i was able to gather some info. from a hilarious IM interview with Radio Free Silverlake, where lead singer Samuel Bing says "Fol Chen sounds like Prince with Amon Duul II and a children's religious revival". At the Silverlake Lounge the other night i was lucky enough to spot another big influence of theirs, which is # 3 on their list of 90's alt-rock jams. Stop me if you've heard this one before.
Expect to hear more from Fol Chen as they are working on a new full-length record at the moment, which should be released in early 2009.
