With hundreds of styles of denim we can now choose from, the backpocket tends to be one of the major components that can set one pair of jeans apart from another. Levi's Europe has taken this notion and teamed up with Belgium's LUCY exhibition space to showcase amazing pieces of art created on denim backpockets. The gallery is split between the LUCY gallery and Belgium's Levi's store in Antwerp- specifically in Kammenstraat, the city's fashion hotspot.
The Galleries feature works by approximately 100 artists both from Belgium and around the world. Several types of artists are involved including architects, lighting designers, and musicians such as Hooverphonic. The pieces will be on display until the end of February '08 at which time they'll be auctioned off to benefit the fight against AIDS.
