Oscar's Best Original Song Winners Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova from "Once"

Apparently 3 nominations out of 5 in the Oscar's Best Original song category only caused "Enchanted" to cannibalize its own votes. Instead, the much deserved "Falling Slowly" by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova from the "Once" soundtrack took home the shiny little statue.

The stage and screen duo performed the song live at the awards, but the story that's really getting a lot of attention is that the show started playing the "get off of stage" music right as Hansard finished his quick speech and Irglova was trying to start hers. Luckily, the producers of the show and host Jon Stewart must have seen the err in their ways and let Marketa come back on stage for a few inspiring words to indie musicians everywhere.

  1. "When Your Mind's Made Up" is for me the best part of the movie, by far.

I posted a review of Hansard and Irglova's recent concert in Portland, Oregon, a Once movie review and also a bit about the Oscars on my blog. You'll just have to scroll down on the right side and click on the "Glen Hansard" label to find all of it. http://isorski.blogspot.com/
